Seen here is the Doric Lodge, left, about 1974, with its third story gone, and the Goldsmith House, which was later renovated. The Goldsmith House was one of the last “homes” of the City Federation of Women’s Clubs. It is now the gift shop for the Constitution Square park. All other buildings on the east side of this block of 2nd Street were demolished.
