St. James African Methodist Episcopal Church was renovated in the 1920s, which changed its appearance to what we see today. It is one of the few “old” churches still in operation.

St. John AME Church was located in the Shelby City section of Junction City. It operated from about 1952 to 1970.
The current Second Street Christian Church was constructed about 1908 when concrete block was coming into fashion as an inexpensive building material.
The Stony Point Predestinarian Baptist Church was originally the Stony Point School, which was in existence since at least 1898. The school was moved from its original location about a mile north of its present location about 1945.
The original First Baptist Church burned in December 1966, but was rebuilt and opened for worship on December 24, 1967. The new church had a seating capacity of 450, significantly greater than the church that burned. The church is located on Second and Walnut Streets.
The Bethel Baptist Church, located on Cowan Street in West Danville, was organized by Rev. E. B. Coleman in 1925. This building, "Old Bethel," was built under the pastorate of Rev. Reuben Brantley in 1962.
